1964, year in which the Manufacture Igea was established. Dynamism, productive potential, and a structure developed on a 15 thousands mq covered area make it today Manifattura Igea one of the most important and known industries for knitwear-yarn.

In 1988, “Filigea”, a warehouse in Carpi for fast delivery yarn, and the “Azimut” line, that is high-quality classic yarns in pure merino wool, were born. In the same period, a laboratory for qualitative analysis and control, among the first ones in Italy, was set in Igea’s head office.

Invited to Pitti Filati since its first edition, Igea is also present in the most prestigious sectorial fairs: from Spinexpo in New York, to the ones in Tokyo and Shenzen.

Besides being among the leaders of the National market, today Igea includes clients on all the main foreign markets. The product is distributed 40% in Italy and 60% abroad.

Since 2010 a photovoltaic system is active on the ceilings of Igea’s sheds, with 2000 panels, for a yearly production of 550 MW, equivalent to 50% of the company’s energy requirements, with a yearly lowering of around 400 tons of CO2.
